Studio Light Assignment -5 TYPES OF LIGHT
THE ASSIGNMENT
STEP 1
•For this assignment you will work in groups of up to three people.
•Using the studio lights and a DSLR camera, shoot your model illustrating 5 types of lighting:
•front, side, ¾ (Rembrandt), top, and back light.
•SHOOT A MINIMUM OF 20 IMAGES (MINIMUM OF FOUR SHOTS OF EACH TYPE OF LIGHT)
•EXPERIMENT WITH YOUR MODEL'S POSES!
•Take turns posing as the model for the photos.
•Each person in your group will turn in the studio lighting assignment.
•Each person must shoot the assignment, you cannot be the subject of the images you turn in.
•Be creative with your model and poses–have fun with the poses –but remember your lighting must represent the 5 types of lighting required for the assignment.
STEP 2
Download the images onto your computer.
Put them onto a Photoshop slide -5 images on one slide.
•Use your creativity in your slide designs.
•Color the slide background.
•Pick one photo to be the dominant image on the page.
•Group the other photos around that main image.
•Write the type of light above or below each image.
•Write your name, STUDIO LIGHT, and period on the image.
STEP3
Save and submit your photos in the Google Classroom server as:
•yourlastname_studio1
•yourlastname_studio2 (this is your proof sheet)
•THE IMAGES YOU TURN IN MUST BE SHOT BY YOU (YOU CANNOT BE THE SUBJECT OF THE PHOTOS YOU SUBMIT!)
