SMARTPHONE SHADOW & LIGHT ASSIGNMENT

LIGHT MAKES ALL PHOTOGRAPHS -IF THERE IS NO LIGHT, THERE IS NO PHOTO.
The goal of this assignment is to take your smartphone photography to another level by capturing the beauty of interesting shadow and light in your images.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR...
•Go outside or in a well-lit area.
•Look for, and photograph interesting patterns of shadows and light.
•Make sure your image is in focus.
•Be ceative and experiment!
•Shoot a minimum of 20 photos. Try different angles & compositions... such as rule of thirds...
•Keep photographing your subject(s) with different anlges of shadow & light and backgrounds.
•As you move around your subject, notice how the exposure changes.
•After you shoot an image, check your exposures. If the photo is too bright or too dark, use the exposure compensaiton adjustment on the smartphone to adjust the camera's exposure... then shoot again...

ASK YOURSELF THESE QUESTIONS
•What kind of light is on your subject? (Is it side, back, front, top, Rembrandt, or patterns of light and shadow…?)
•Is the sun shining on the subject directly, or is it half shade and half sun?

WHAT TO SUBMIT
•Three images: your 2 favorites and a screenshot of 20 images from your smartphone shoot.
•What to do: Pick your two favorite photos from your shoot, crop them and adjust the lightness/darkness.
•Do a screenshot on your phone of your "Shadow and Light" shoot.
•Submit all three photos in the Shadow & Light assignment folder in Google Classroom.
