SELF-PORTRAIT ASSIGNMENT

THE ASSIGNMENT
For this “shooting” assignment, use your creative and technical skills to make two interesting and amazing self-portraits. These are not just random SELFIES!

STEP 1 •Read these articles & watch this video about self-portraits
•How Self-Portraiture Makes You a Better Photographer

•10 Famous Photographers Whose Sefl-Portraits Are Much More Than Just a Selfie

•The Art of Self Portraits -video on YouTube (watch from the beginning to 6:30 point)

STEP 2 •Search the web for eamples of awesome self-portraits (get inspired!)

STEP 3 •WHAT TO SHOOT & SUBMIT
•Shoot a minimum of 20 photos to create 2 amazing self-portraits.
•SUBMIT 2 SELF PORTRAITS A 20-IMAGE PROOFSHEET IN THE GOOGLE CLASSROOM
•You SHOULD use Photoshop or your smartphone's editing software to crop and adjust exposure for the two images you are submitting! (Crop & adjust only those two...)
  
ASSIGNMENT TIPS
•We are looking for images that go beyond "selfies."
•Look for creative images that reveal something about yourself or your interests...
•You can shoot your reflection in a mirror...
•Or use the phone's self-timer and steady your camera or phone using a tripod or something steady... (if you don't have a tripod, prop up your camera or phone on something solid...).
•You can use props, costumes, lighting... any or all techniques that are creative and inspiring!
•REMEMBER, THIS IS A SELF PORTRAIT –SO YOU MUST COMPOSE AND SHOOT THE IMAGE YOURSELF!
•These photos must be taken now, for this assignment, not a self-portrait you’ve shot before.
•Have some fun with this –MAKE YOUR PHOTOS INTERESTING AND CREATIVE!
