USE OF LINE EXAMPLE SLIDES

Use of Line Assignment
Use of line is a compositional technique photographers frequently use to make compelling images. Incorporating lines into your compositions can create interest and unite the elements in a scene.

WHAT TO DO: Shoot a minimum of 20 images using amazing use of line in composition. Pick TWO, from among the seven types of lines described in the lecture (vertical, horizontal, diagonal, leading, implied, converging and curved lines) and integrate them into in your compositions to create two different images that illustrate compelling use of line. You must shoot the images for this assignment, you cannot use photos from a previous shoot or your camera roll or the web!

Final Product: Turn in 2 Images and a proofsheet of 20 images showing beautiful "Use Of Line"

After you have PICKED your TWO BEST images:

•Correct the brightness of the photos using your in-phone camera app exposure settings.

•Do a screenshot of your 20 "Line" photos for your "proofsheet."
•Submit 2 best photos & a proofsheet in the correct Google Classroom period# "Line" folder.

SHOOTING TIPS:

Fill the frame • Get close to your subjects • Your photos will be more interesting if you have a "focal point" (an object or something of interest to contrast against the background and to hold your eye) in the composition. Use different different angles to make your images more interesting.

THINGS TO PHOTOGRAPH:
Lines! But more than just lines -use the different types of lines in an interesting composition of people, objects, fences, walkways, buildings, textures -any subject that makes a beautiful photo...
