The "METICULOUS" assignment

FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT, PHOTOGRAPH METICULOUSLY ARRANGED EVERYDAY OBJECTS THAT CAN BE FOUND AROUND YOUR HOME -IN THE STYLE OF EMILY BLINCOE & CAROLINE SMITH...

STEP 1 • First, look at the photographs of Emily Blincoe. She's a photographer who creates meticulously arranged collections of objects. From leaves and flowers to cereal and trash, she is capable of making visually amazing layouts of almost any object. Here is a link to the "arrangements" page on her website:  http://www.emilyblincoe.com/arrangements

• Another photographer who does these kinds of arraingements is Adam iellman -here's a link to his images. Adam Hillman on the Society6 page and on Instagram

STEP 2 • Search for a variety of objects and items that can be used to create your "meticulous" arrangement.

STEP 3 • Find a simple suitable background for your shot. This could be a plain pillow case, large piece of paper, or anything large enough with no pattern. Set up your arrangement, be meticulous and pay attention to details. Make sure you place your arrangement in adequate lighting -please remember how important good lighting is in photography.

STEP 4 • Shoot your arrangement -Take photographs from above, looking straight down at your arrangement. When shooting, remember to compose, align and shoot your arrangement "straight down" -so there is no distortion or converging lines. Go in as close as you can. Make sure your image is tack sharp!  Take multipel frames... never rely on just taking one shot.

STEP 5 • Edit your 2 favorite METICULOUS compositions then submit to the Meticulous assignment folder in Google Classroom.

FYI • Photographs of the "meticulous" arrangement of objects, have been used in advertising and commercial photography for years.
