HISTORY BRUSH NUMBER 2 • PHOTOSHOP ASSIGNMENT

THE HISTORY BRUSH IS ONE OF THE MOST USEFUL PHOTOSHOP TOOLS.
YOU CAN USE IT TO MAKE CHANGES TO SPECIFIC AREAS OF YOUR PHOTO WITHOUT AFFECTING OTHER AREAS OF YOUR IMAGE.

THE ASSIGNMENT: USE THE HUE-SATURATION, HISTORY BRUSH AND THE HISTORY PALETTE TO MAKE CHANGES TO A SPECIFIC OBJECT IN YOUR PHOTO.  COMBINE THE “BEFORE” AND “AFTER” IMAGES ON ONE PHOTOSHOP BACKGROUND.

WHAT TO DO:
1. CLICK ON THIS HISTORY BRUSH LINK TO WATCH THE “HISTORY BRUSH” VIDEO TUTORIAL.
2. CLICK ON THE LINK TO OPEN THIS STUDIO IMAGE, THEN DO A SCREENSHOT OF THE IMAGE & OPEN IT IN PHOTOSHOP.
3. OPEN THE "CURVES" ADJUSTMENT. USE THE "WHITE SAMPLER" IN THE CURVES ADJUSTMENT PALLET TO CHANGE THE COLOR OF THE SEAMLESS BACKGROUND TO PURE WHITE. (THIS WILL MAKE THE BACKGROUND WHITE, BUT THE MODEL WILL BE TOO BRIGHT).
4. SELECT THE HISTORY BURSH & USE IT TO APPLY THE WHITE TONAL ADJUSTMENT TO ONLY THE SEAMLESS BACKGROUND.
5. PUT TWO IMAGES, THE “BEFORE” AND “AFTER” ON ONE PHOTOSHOP BACKGROUND.
