STUDIO LIGHTING SETUP AND LIGHTING INTRODUCTION
STUDIO LIGHT STUDENT EXAMPLES
Studio Light Assignment
For this assignment you will work in groups of up to three people.
Using the studio lights and a DSLR camera, shoot your model illustrating 5 types of lighting: front light, side, ¾ (Rembrandt), top, and bottom or back light.
Download the images onto your computer.
Put them onto a Photoshop slide -5 images on one slide.
Use your creativity in your slide designs.
Pick one photo to be the dominant image.
Put borders around each image.
Put the type of light above or below each image.
Color the slide background.
Title your studio shoot: P#yourlastname_studio.
Take turns posing as the model for the photos.
Each person in your group will turn in the studio lighting assignment.
Each person must shoot the assignment, you cannot be the subject of the images you turn in.
Be creative with your model and poses–have fun with the poses –but remember your lighting must represent the 5 types of lighting required for the assignment.
Below is an example of the assignment you will turn in. It is not the only design approach, merely a suggestion.
