SELF PORTRAIT ASSIGNMENT
THE ASSIGNMENT -THIS IS DUE TUESDAY MARCH 24TH
For this “shooting” assignment, use your creative and technical skills to make two interesting and amazing self-portraits. These are not just random SELFIES!
STEP 1 •Read these articles & watch this video about self-portraits
•How Self-Portraiture Makes You a Better Photographer
•10 Famous Photographers Whose Sefl-Portraits Are Much More Than Just a Selfie
•The Art of Self Portraits -video on YouTube (watch from the beginning to 6:30 point)
STEP 2 •Search the web for eamples of awesome self-portraits (get inspired!)
HOW TO SHOOT AND SUBMIT YOUR PHOTOS
STEP 3 •Shoot a minimum of 20 photos to create 2 amazing self-portraits.
STEP 4 •SUBMIT 2 SELF PORTRAITS IN THE GOOGLE CLASSROOM FOLDER.
•NO PROOF SHEET IS NEEDED!
•YOU DO NOT NEED TO PUT THESE PHOTOS ON BACKGROUNDS!
•You SHOULD use your smartphone's editing software to crop and adjust exposure for the two images you are submitting! (Crop & adjust only those two...)
•THERE WILL BE NO RUBRIC...
•I WILL GRADE THIS CREDIT/NO CREDIT 10 POINTS EACH PHOTO -20 POINTS TOTAL FOR BOTH IMAGES!
•We are looking for something other than a "selfie." Shoot something creative that reveals something aobut yourself or your interests...
•You can shoot your reflection in a mirror...
•Or use the phone's self-timer and steady your camera/phone using a tripod or something steady... (if you don't have a tripod, prop up your camera/phone on something solid...).
•You can use props, costumes, lighting... any or all techniques that are creative and inspiring!
•BUT, THIS IS A SELF PORTRAIT –SO YOU MUST COMPOSE AND SHOOT THE IMAGE YOURSELF!
•Your self portrait must be shot using A CAMERA OR SMARTPHONE CAMERA…
•These photos must be taken now, for this assignment, not a self-portrait you’ve shot before.
•Have some fun with this –MAKE YOUR PHOTOS INTERESTING AND CREATIVE!
