WELCOME BACK PHOTOS EXAMPLES

Advanced Photography Welcome Back Assembly Assignment

•Use your photography skills to document the Welcome Back Assembly. Shoot a variety of subjects, using your knowledge of the “elements of photography.”  (I know this is your chance to march onto the field as Seniors, and I want you to have fun, but shoot a bunch of interesting photos too. Go beyond shooting selfies, use your skills to create some amazing photos!)

•Shoot a minimum of 24 different photos before, during and after the assembly (6 photos of the same shot of your friend posing for the camera = 1photo). Look for look for candid, as well as posed photos, of students enjoying the Assembly.

•Think in terms of shooting a mini documentary, with some shots at the beginning, middle and end of the rally.
• What to shoot?  Putting on crowns, waiting to go into the stadium, friends carrying each other piggyback, cheering in the stands during the rally, then the crowd leaving the field etc... Look for spontaneous candid moments…

•Remember to fill the frame with your subjects…. get closer.  Use interesting compositions, light and moments in your images.  Vary your stance, up high, down low, close, wide…. try for variety…. and most important, photograph people’s faces.

WHAT TO DO AFTER THE SHOOT •STEP 1
•When you return, download your photos, look through your images using Photo Mechanic, & edit down to your 5 favorites.
•Show those 5 favorites to the other advanced students. Discuss with them what worked and what could be better.
•Then pick 2 photos to submit for a grade.

•SUBMITTING THIS FIRST SET OF IMAGES

•Submit your 2 best images and a do a screenshot of a minimum 24 favorites.
I'm assuming you will have shot more than 24 images (which is the minimum), so use PhotoMechanic to select a rough edit of images -down to a manageable number, approx.24-30 images or so, then do a screenshot of those images.
•Put your first set of images in the p4adv_welcome_back_assign folder
•When you submit your images & proofsheet, name your photos:
P#lastname_WB1
P#lastname_WB2
P#lastname_WB3 (this is your proof sheet)

•SUBMITTING A 2nd FOLDER OF YOUR "5 FAVORITES" TO YEARBOOK

IN ADDITION TO SUBMITTING 2 IMAGES AND A PROOFSHEET FOR A GRADE, YOU WILL ALSO BE SUBMITTING A FOLDER OF YOUR 5 FAVORITE IMAGES (see STEP 1 above...) FOR POSSIBLE USE IN THE YEARBOOK.
HOW TO DO THIS???
1. CROP and adjust the tonality of your 5 favorite images from the Welcome Back Assembly. (Remember to lighten or darken photos, use command "L" or command "M").
(DO NOT PUT THE IMAGES ON PHOTOSHOP BACKGROUNDS!)
2. Then, put those 5 images into a new folder on your desktop...
3. Name the folder: advp4lastname_WB_5PICS
4. Put that folder into the P4ADV_WB_5PICS folder in the 206teacher server.
5. I will share your photos with the Advisor for possible use in the Yearbook.

•Have some fun with this, make creative, inventive, interpretive photos that display your skills!!!
