Advanced Photography Welcome Back Assembly Assignment
•Use your photography skills to document the Welcome Back Assembly. Shoot a variety of subjects, using your knowledge of the “elements of photography.” (I know this is your chance to march onto the field as Seniors, and I want you to have fun, but shoot a bunch of interesting photos too. Go beyond shooting selfies, use your skills to create some amazing photos!)
•Shoot a minimum of 24 different photos before, during and after the assembly (6 photos of the same shot of your friend posing for the camera = 1photo). Look for look for candid, as well as posed photos, of students enjoying the Assembly.
•Think in terms of shooting a mini documentary, with some shots at the beginning, middle and end of the rally.
What to shoot? Putting on crowns, waiting to go into the stadium, friends carrying each other piggyback, cheering in the stands during the rally, then the crowd leaving the field etc... Look for spontaneous candid moments…
•Remember to fill the frame with your subjects…. get closer. Use interesting compositions, light and moments in your images. Vary your stance, up high, down low, close, wide…. try for variety…. and most important, photograph people’s faces.
WHAT TO DO AFTER THE SHOOT •STEP 1
•When you return, download your photos, look through your images using Photo Mechanic, & edit down to your 5 favorites.
