DODGEBALL EXAMPLES SLIDESHOW
DODGEBALL TOURNAMENT ASSIGNMENT
THE ASSIGNMENT: Produce FOUR action pictures from the Dodgeball tournament in the Gym.
WHAT TO DO FOR THIS "SPORTS" ASSIGNMENT
Use the 70-200 lens and one of our Canon cameras. Set the camera on manual, the lens on F2.8 and the camera at a very fast shutter speed (like 1/320 or 1/500) to "freeze" all subject movement. Don't forget, you are in a dark gym, so you need to set your ISO to a high number, like 3200, so that you can use a fast shutter speed to freeze all action.
WHAT TO SHOOT? Shoot a variety of action shots and "moments." Don't limit yourself to the participants throwing the balls, but shoot the entire "event," such as the sprint to half court at the beginning of each contest, reaction to being hit, dives on the floor, and the "feeling" of the event…
FINAL PRODUCT: YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PUT THESE ON SLIDE BACKGROUNDS! SIMPLY Submit FOUR of your best photos in the correct advanced period p6adv_dodgeball folder in the class server (206 teacher server).
Save each of your images in the 206 Teacher classroom photo server as:
TIPS FOR SHOOTING THIS ASSIGNMENT:
Look for a variety of photos in your shoot –not just people throwing balls… Try to get as close to the subject(s) as possible! Your subject(s) should fill the entire frame of the image. You need to be prepared and anticipate! • Press the shutter just BEFORE you think the moment is going to happen. • If you see the momentary you have missed it!
